Internal Halyard System with Cam Cleat

This is our most economical internal system, providing the same high security as our winch operated model but with the simplicity of a rope halyard. A cam cleat is mounted inside the pole shaft. A rope halyard passes from the cam cleat through the interior of the shaft and over the truck pulley. The truck is the same revolving non-fouling type used in the winch-operated Guardian I. The halyard is then attached to a beaded retainer ring and coated counterweight which permit lowering of the flag in all wind conditions. A lockable flush mounted door provides access to the cam cleat and excess halyard is stored easily inside the pole shaft.

In the table below, Economy Grade flagpoles are offered as a standard choice with cam-cleat internal halyard. Flagpoles with exposed heights greater than 40 feet should use a winch internal halyard system.

Internal halyard is available on any pole with a butt diameter of 5" or greater.

Commercial Grade and Economy Grade flagpoles differ in wall thickness and butt diameters. Knowledge of local wind conditions will allow architects to choose the appropriate flagpole to fit the design requirements.

Standard Fittings -Commercial Grade

Finial Ball. Fabricated of 14 gauge aluminum with a flush seam and gold or clear anodized finish.

Truck. Cast aluminum revolving, non-fouling type with stainless ball bearings and Delrin sheaves.

Cleats. Two 9" cast aluminum with satin finish. Secured with two 5/16" stainless steel flat head machine screws.

Halyards. Two sets of 5/16" (#10) polypropylene, each with two snap hooks of bronze, chrome-plated brass, or cast nylon. Metal snaphooks are supplied with vinyl protective covers.

Collar. A flash collar of heavy-gauge spun aluminum, with an outside diameter 1 " larger that the foundation sleeve. Finished to match the flagpole.

Foundation Sleeve. 16 gauge galvanized corrugated steel tube with a ¾" dia. lightning ground rod.

Standard Fittings -Economy Grade Fittings include a revolving non-fouling truck with single sheave and one set of halyards and snap hooks. All other fittings are the same as the Commercial Grade.
